Durante los años de la Segunda Guerra Mundial estudió en la Escuela de Arte de Moscú y el Instituto Surikov, con P. Koshevoi, K. Molchanov, V. Pochitalov, Y. Kugach, A. Osmerkin, A. Gritsai y V. Yakovlev.
