El templo Chusonji es uno de los principales atractivos turísticos de Hiraizumi, en la prefectura de Iwate junto con el vecino templo Motsuji y su espectacular jardín de la tierra pura. Desde junio de 2011, el templo Chusonji es Patrimonio de la Humanidad por la UNESCO y forma parte de los Monumentos y Sitios Históricos de Hiraizumi.
