Motivo: Rey Carlos Spaniel.
Autor: George Stubbs (1724-1806), conocido sobre todo por sus pinturas de caballos. Stubbs era hijo de un curtidor. La información que se conserva sobre su vida hasta los treinta y tres está muy dispersa, y se encuentra sobre todo en unas notas manuscritas por un artista amigo, Ozias Humphry, al final de la vida de Stubbs.
