Mikhail Semyonovich Shchepkin (1788-1863), fue el actor más famoso del Imperio ruso del siglo XIX. Se le considera el "padre" de la actuación realista en Rusia y, a través de la influencia de su estudiante, Glikeriya Fedotova, una influencia importante en el desarrollo del "sistema" de Konstantin Stanislavski.
