Luis Alberto Monge Álvarez (1925-2016), fue un político costarricense, 39 presidente de la República de Costa Rica entre 1982 y 1986. Oriundo de una familia humilde de agricultores, Monge estuvo involucrado desde edad joven en movimientos sociales y sindicales.
